File > Backup/Restore
The backup function is part of a different program that is started when Easy Church Membership is running. Launching the program will close the running Easy Church Membership on that workstation. It is important to understand if a backup is started while any workstation is running Easy Church Membership the backup will not be successful because any open files can not be copied by the backup program.
There are three steps to complete a backup of your data:
![]() Select the Path
The first tab has detailed instructions and the date of the last successful backup. The date of the last successful backup is also displayed.
![]() Select the destination file name
Displays the path of the last backup. The default is C: drive. This path should be changed, but the path must exist.
![]() The process must be approved first
This is the final step. Click on the large Backup Library Data button and the backup will start. If an error is encountered the backup will fail and a message will be displayed. The most common errors are an invalid path or no disk in the drive.
![]() Select the destination drive
Select the destination drive. Do not select drive C. You may save the backup file to drive C but if the drive does crash you will loose your data and your backup file. This defeats the purpose of having a backup. In our example above we selected drive H. You may or may not have a drive H, our choice is just an example.
Click Yes to continue with the backup or No to abort.
As the backup process proceeds the file name being added will be displayed.
The backup is complete, there were no errors. Unplug your removable hard drive and keep it in a safe place.
