Now you must enter the different types of resources the library will have in its collection.  There must be at least one resource type before a resource may be added to the database.  The advantage of this method is that whatever new technology is invented you will always be able to include it in your library.  An example is the new Blue Ray DVD.  Granted it is a DVD but Blue Ray DVD's must be played on a DVD player that is designed to play this type of DVD.  Your patron will have to know that they must have the correct player before checking out this type of resource.

Each type of resource may have a different number of days it may be checked out.  It will not take as long to view a DVD or video as it would to read a book.  As you can see a video, and a DVD may be checked out for 7 days.  A book for 28 days and a Book on Tape for 14.  If the number of days is zero the program will default to 14 days.
