Dewey Classification
Library > Dewey Codes

The left side of the window below is a summary of the general Decimal Classification Codes.  These codes have not changed since they were introduced.  Because these are standards there is no reason to make and changes or additions.  In the event that the file is accidentally deleted a copy of the file was installed in the default folder.  Copy the file 'Copy of DEWEY.TPS' and rename it 'DEWEY.TPS.

Maintaining Sub Classification Detail:
However the right side of the above window is the detailed classification options.  Some have been entered to help you to properly classify a resource as it is entered.  You can add new classification detail as needed.  If you do enter a new sub classification be sure you entered it in the correct place.  Don't add 222.1 in the 300 General listing.

Selecting the Classification Number:
The list of classification options are initialized when you select the Dewey Report Code.  In the above example the Report Code is 100, Philosophy.  Only the classifications associated with this code will be available in the classification drop box entry field.
